Our Leadership Team

David Jackson

David Jackson

Founder and CEO

I founded Seeking Alpha after working as an equity research analyst at Morgan Stanley in New York during the tech bubble. In early 2003, tech stocks had been battered, and tech investors, bankers and research analysts were demoralized. At the same time, new technologies were creating the possibility of a different approach to equity research, based on crowdsourcing and community. I left Morgan Stanley, and immediately started working on Seeking Alpha. I am passionate about building a product that enriches our subscribers’ lives and a platform that provides opportunities for our analysts. I am also a strong believer in remote working, as it supports both career success and other life goals, which is why many members of our team work from home. I have a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and an MSc in Economics from The London School of Economics. I love writing, spreadsheets, user experience, and strategy. My hobbies include reading history and tormenting my children with terrible dad jokes. I’m married with five children and live in Ra’anana, Israel.

Avishag Baruch

President and COO

My career started when I fell in love with coding in high school. I later served in the IDF’s Mamram unit (the Center of Computing and Information Systems) and got a BSc in Computer Science from Bar-Ilan University. I have worked on multiple start-ups in the network, health, and gaming industries.

I am currently Seeking Alpha’s President and Chief Operating Officer. I joined the company in 2014 because I believe it is the premier website for actionable stock market insights, opinions and analysis, and intelligent finance discussion. Our platform empowers users to make informed, strategic investment decisions.

My Seeking Alpha journey started by growing our technology organization into a large, structured team comprising Development, Quality Assurance, Data, Security, and IT. Then, I continued to manage and be accountable for the VPs in the organization.

I believe that technology innovation, driven by brilliant minds, leads to outstanding user experience. My approach is based on robust processes and best practices. I execute our business plan by creating focus, clarity, accountability, and alignment with the company’s strategy.

With over 30 years of experience in equity investment research, quantitative strategies, and portfolio management, I am committed to leveraging my expertise to assist investors in making more informed investment decisions.

Bruce Krulwich

Vice President, Data

I joined Seeking Alpha in 2019 to analyze data and help the company better understand what users like. Since then, I’ve grown data analysis from a few people to several teams, expanded my purview to Data Science, and now lead all aspects of data for the company. I really enjoy being part of such a data-driven company, where data makes a significant contribution to the company’s strategies and decisions.

I studied Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon, Yale and Northwestern Universities, and completed my PhD in Artificial Intelligence. My career working in both major companies and start-ups, including some companies I founded, has led me to approach data questions with an equal mix of mathematics and statistics on one hand and business reality on the other.
